Who processes the data

The controller of personal data is Lukáš Polák, operator of the game Fynal (the iOS and Android app and the website fynal.eu). Send questions about personal data to the email below.

What data we process

Account: an anonymous identifier created on first launch (you play as a guest). If you create an account, also your email.

Profile: nickname and chosen avatar.

Game: your guesses, points, streaks, badges and participation in rooms with friends.

Feedback: question ratings and reported mistakes, including any note you write.

Your sign-in, settings and reminders stay on the device. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on the phone itself.

The website fynal.eu stores in the browser only what the game needs to work: sign-in (an anonymous account for saving guesses), your nickname for rooms and calculator notes. It uses no tracking or advertising cookies, so it has no cookie banner.

The website fynal.eu measures traffic with Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. These tools use no cookies and work with anonymised data.

Analytics: the app and website send simple usage events to PostHog (servers in the EU), such as opening the app, sending a guess or turning on reminders. Events carry only the anonymous account identifier, never your email or nickname. We do not record the screen, and the website uses no cookies for this. It helps us learn what works in the game.

Why we process it

To provide the game: saving your progress, counting points and streaks, and showing how others guessed (in aggregate, without names). The legal basis is performance of a contract, i.e. the game terms.

To keep the game running, fix mistakes in questions and learn from analytics what improves the game. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.

Who has access to the data

Supabase: database and sign-in, servers in Frankfurt (EU).

Vercel: hosting of the website fynal.eu.

Resend: sending emails with the sign-in code.

PostHog: usage analytics, servers in the EU.

Apple and Google: app distribution and the system dialog for store ratings.

We do not pass data to anyone else or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete the account, we delete all data linked to it. It disappears from database backups within 30 days at the latest.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. Just write to the email below.

You can delete your account and all data yourself in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account.

If you feel we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz) or to the data protection authority in your country.

Children

Fynal is suitable for all ages. If you are under 15, ask your parents for consent before creating an account with an email.
